About FC Porto of Kansas

FCPortoLogoFC Porto of Kansas Soccer Club was founded in January 2006 with 12 girls, playing U12 D3 and 1 Coach. Today, our club has grown from one team to 8 Boys Teams: U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14 (2), U16—102 players and 10 Coaches.  It’s a thrill to be involved in a mission to provide every child the opportunity to play Premier Soccer.

Not only is the club working off pass-through costs but our number of scholarships has increased between the economy and our demographics. We have players from every zip code in the Greater KC which gives every kids an opportunity to play competitive soccer regardless of financial means. FC Porto is inexpensive comparing others clubs and gives the same value. FC Porto has been able to practice at the Overland Park Soccer Complex that covers 96 acres and offers 12 illuminated
, regulation size synthetic turf fields.

Our vision is to be able to provide the best environment for competitive youth soccer players to reach their full potential and teach our players the beautiful game of soccer!

Our diversity is a result of our mission. Our mission has enabled us to have at least two coaches per team bringing the ratio of coach: player to no more than 1:6.

Our goal is to be able to compete at the highest level with the same philosophy! Play beautiful!

The FALL in Review
Our Dragons had a pretty good Fall as we expanded the number of teams The U11 Dragons painted the Heartland Division 1 in blue by winning it in their first year in Division 1.  It was a race to the end but a fantastic win by the boys led by Coach Laurent.  In addition the U11 was the HIT Finalist. The U13 Dragons won the Legends Invitational and the Autumn Fest and finished 2nd in Heartland D2 with only one loss earning promotion to Division 1.  They also lost a 0-1 last 40 seconds heartbreaker in the first match pool play of the HIT to the eventual champions. The U14A Dragons finished 3rd in Heartland D1 with only one loss and three points from first place.  They also were Finalists in the Clorox Cup and finished 3rd in the Governor’s Cup Gold Division.
